What is the Procedure Like?
During a tummy tuck, the surgeon makes a horizontal incision across the lower abdomen, from hip to hip. The length of the incision depends on the amount of excess skin to be removed. The surgeon then lifts the skin and tightens the abdominal muscles, creating a more toned appearance. The excess skin is removed, and the incision is closed with sutures. The procedure typically takes 2-4 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
